Exeter Vacations

When the majority of people debate UK vacations they mostly only mention resorts close to the sea such as Whitby, Torquay, Weston-super-Mare and Bognor Regis. Infrequently folk may discuss taking a vacation in a specific county in England such as Devon in south England but rarely do they think about taking a short break in the city of Exeter. This article discusses various factors why an Exeter vacation is a great idea.

The most important reasons for having a break in Exeter is that the accommodation is extremely reasonable with bed and breakfast in Exeter available from roughly £25 a night and numerous rooms around the £40-50 range.

Of course there has to be more than a minimal price to entice you to stay in a city and Exeter definitely has lots to offer the possible tourist. You will discover that there are numerous first class visitor attractions in the city centre and even more within easy reach and if this is not enough then the city of Plymouth is but a short distance and you will discover that there is also low cost bed and breakfast in Plymouth and even more brilliant tourist attractions. Also you will find that there are masses of astounding places to see along the nearby coast.

Tourist Attractions

In Exeter there are only a few of visitor attractions worth a visit including; Rougemont Castle, St Peter’s Cathedral and the Royal Albert Museum. As mentioned earlier there is a small number of close by seaside towns to visit the most worthwhile being the pretty villages of Seaton, Sidmouth and Beer.

Further away, in between Exeter and Plymouth is the hardly populated moorland of the Dartmoor National Park with the overall region having a fair few tourist attractions well worth a visit including Buckland Abbey, Buckfast Abbey and A La Ronde along the main road, to Plymouth. Along the way you will pass the Torbay area, which is made up of Paignton, Torquay and Brixham and is often referred to as the English Riviera region.

Exeter truly is a excellent place in which to take a vacation but why not consider having a two destination vacation and spend a couple of days/nights in a really plush hotel in Plymouth and tour the spectacular countryside and coast in between the two vacation destinations?
